About this course
Chronic non-cancer pain is common in Australia and more people are seeing their general practitioner (GP) for chronic pain management. While pain management guidelines remain the foundation of care, the majority of medicinal cannabis prescribing authorisations during 2021 and 2022 were for chronic pain.
Learning Outcomes
- Discuss the role of medicinal cannabis in chronic non-cancer pain in the context of current standard of care.
- Summarise the advantages and disadvantages of different types of medicinal cannabis products.
- Examine the concept of individualised medicinal cannabis dosing.
- Summarise the access pathways to prescribe medicinal cannabis in the context of chronic non-cancer pain.
